Time for a cosmic back.
First, we need a drawing.

Once the design is decided, it's time for the drilling of the needle.

On the side, a bio didgeridoo, for her love of the instrument.

On one arm, the cosmos.

The powerful gayatri mantra on the other arm, for her love of the hindu way.

Let's add a dna strand, the LSD molecule, a Om on the neck, and Samantha came out with a beautiful hand drawned and unique design.

Tattoo convention 2011 Nepal

Nepal tattoo convention 2011

Let's follow the freaks and check out Nepal 1st International tattoo convention!

Filled with 50 tattoo artists from Italy, France, Nepal, India and Thailand, UK, USA, Russia, the convention was a great opportunity for Nepale artists to see world renowed tattoo artists.

Based in the beautiful Yak and Yeti hotel, the convention was 3 days of art and meetings.

Universal religion Pokhara 2011

Back in the car, and a few hours drive laters we'll reach Pokhara for the 2011 Universal Religion party!

We follow the river, stop for a dhal bhat, and we're almost there...

Set in a 5 star hotel, the surrounding was a bit surprising, but all in all the organization of the party was ok. The party was 3 days of full power boom boom. Not much variation in the music, but all in all, a good time.

3 days laters, it's time to get back to Kathmandu. Half asleep we drive back to the city.

Devghat

After 2 days of enjoying Chitwan, we take the car direction Pokhara, for the Universal Religion party 2011.

On the way, we stop by Devghat, a holy place at the meeting of 2 rivers.

The traditional banyan tree welcomes visitors, as the old people watch the world pass by...

A son accompanies his mam, who come here to die in peace.

The freaky bunch takes a bath in the holy river, once again all sins get washed aways...

A little juja to Hanuman watching from his monkey eyes, and off we go to Pokhara!

Chitwan national park

Sometimes it's nice to take a break from busy Kathmandu life. So, let's go on a little trip!

Direction Chitwan, one of Nepal's national parks. A few hours drive from Kathmandu, in the flat and hot Torai land, close to the Indian border, Chitwan houses the famous rhinoceros with one horn, birds, alligators, elephants and much wild life. The park offers safaris and other nature trips.

To enjoy Chitwan, we stayed at Ananda Kuthi. Settled 25 minutes from the main town, Ananda Kuthi is 12 huts of peace and quiet. Thanks to Surendra Shah for welcoming us for a couple days in his place. In the morning, we went on a boat, enjoying the river.

In the evening , we cooked korela.

After putting the wood together, making the partition and the shelf, it's time for the sanding, painting, sanding, painting, stage.

Baba Bikas, tattoo master, wearing his special princess Lea hat!

Meet Bikas from Funky Buddha.

Bikas has been doing professional tattoo for 10 years. He has travelled in India where he worked in Goa. In Thailand, he learned bamboo technique. He does machine and bamboo tattoos, with original and custom design. When he is not busy tattoing, he plays the didgeriddo and hangs out in the jungle.

Meet Manue from gamatron. Painter, jewerly and art maker. Born in france, and inspired by much travelling, she settled in Kathmandu, where she could explore the buddhist and hindu cultures.
The shop offers art worshops, with macrame jewerly making, papier mache, and other techniques. You can read her writing on her fuzzy travel blog.

Here is a mural done in Cookie Walla restaurant. Situated in Thamel, Kathmandu, cookie serves a choice of western and local foods. His specialty being his famous cookies, of course.
